Gravity racing is an exciting an entertaining sport with all of the thrills of its engine powered cousins, but none of the noise or pollution.

Friday 1st July - Practice only

  • 18.00 - 22.00: Full course practice and qualifying

Saturday 2nd July - Heats and Finals

  • 18.00 - 22.00: Head to head racing!
Soapbox Racers at Cairngorm

Please do come along and watch - there is no charge for spectators - but please follow these simple instructions for your safety;

  • Follow the directions of the volunteer marshalls
  • Keep well clear of the track and the carties
  • Stand on the inside of corners, behind something solid
  • Do not sit on the bales and safety barriers
  • Keep out of the marked areas
The event runs from 6.00pm until 10.30pm on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd July 2011, but Friday evening is for individual practice runs and timed qualifying only.

The best time to come along and watch is during the heats and finals on Saturday evening, when up to four carties at a time will be racing head to head.

While every effort is made to make Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme as safe and enjoyable as possible, you should bear in mind that Gravity Racing is potentially dangerous and that you are present in the vicinity of the course entirely at your own risk.
