We are delighted to announce a brand new event for 2013 which combines two days of gravity powered soapbox racing and classic cars in the ground of Drumlanrig Castle, Dumfries & Galloway (60 miles south of Glasgow [map]).

The gravity racing is part of a larger auto event - the Dumlanrig Autoclassica - with all sorts of other exciting activities and sights to see including;

Steve Thomas's drove his high tech' carbon fibre masterpiece C12 to victory yet again in an eventful race yesterday. He won the final with ease, passing Team Weasel's gravity sidecar at sugarbowl. Meanwhile behind them, Team Rooket and Centa Bavaria were caught up in a close race for second place which ended prematurely when they both spun off the course. They were treated at the scene but the on-course paramedic and rescue team, and Team Rooket's driver Paul Janson was then taken to Raigmore hospital for further tests.

There are 27 teams entered, including 3 gravity sidecars, 2 gravity bikes and 2 street luge. The fastest racers from across Great Britain will be there, including twice winner and undisputed King of the Mountain Steve Thomas (C12), back to defend his title and see if he can make it 3 from 3.

There will be a limited number of places available for street luge and gravity bike at this year's Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme.

The course is not suitable for novices in either of these disciplines and entry for luge and g-bike is by invitation only. If you would like to be considered for racing on this iconic track, please contact us.

Unfortunately we are not able to accept any other disciplines this year - just soapbox, sidecar, bike and luge.
